Serving the Community: Collaboration between PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello and IZI South Sulawesi Supports Rahmatullah Mosque, Tello Baru
Makassar, 11 December 2025 — As part of its commitment to delivering tangible benefits to surrounding communities, PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello, in collaboration with Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia (IZI) South Sulawesi, provided worship facility assistance to Rahmatullah Muhammadiyah Mosque in Tello Baru Urban Village. This initiative reflects PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello’s ongoing dedication to supporting religious and social activities within communities located near its operational areas.
Rahmatullah Muhammadiyah Mosque has a capacity of approximately 250 worshippers and serves as a center for community activities, including daily congregational prayers, Friday prayers, and regular Qur’anic education (TPA) programs held every evening. Considering its important role in community development and religious guidance, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello and IZI South Sulawesi deemed it essential to support the mosque’s facilities to enhance the comfort and continuity of worship activities.
The assistance followed an assessment conducted on 21 November 2025, which identified the need for facility upgrades. The mosque’s sound system had been in use for more than 20 years, while its air conditioning units were no longer operating optimally. These conditions were found to affect the comfort of worshippers, particularly during prayer services and educational activities.
Through this collaboration, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello and IZI South Sulawesi provided a complete sound system package and air conditioning units. The assistance was symbolically handed over by Assistant Manager of Finance and General Affairs of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello, Mustafa, together with Head of IZI South Sulawesi, Eko Mulyono, and was received by Chairman of Rahmatullah Muhammadiyah Mosque Management, Abu Bakar Muttaqien. Abu Bakar expressed his appreciation for the support and noted that the assistance was especially meaningful ahead of the Ramadan period, when mosque activities typically increase.
Through this program, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello hopes the mosque can further optimize its role as a center for worship and community development. The collaboration with IZI South Sulawesi also demonstrates that cross-institutional synergy can deliver effective solutions to community needs. Going forward, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello remains committed to being a trusted partner in supporting social and religious development within surrounding communities.
