Promoting Community Economic Self-Reliance, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Priok Replicates the Pesona Betawi Program in the Kalibaru Area
Jakarta, 21 January 2026 — PLN Indonesia Power, through its Generation Business Unit (UBP) Priok, continues to demonstrate its commitment to community empowerment by implementing the Replication of the Pesona Betawi Program in Kalibaru, Cilincing District. This activity is part of the expansion of program benefits through benchmarking from the Pesona Betawi area in RW 06, which serves as the pilot location. The program was carried out in RW 03, RW 04, and RW 15 of Kalibaru, following previous implementations in other neighborhood units within the area.
The activity was attended by the Head of Kalibaru Sub-district, Sukarmin; the Head of RW 06 Kalibaru, Abdul Karim; and representatives of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Priok. Entering its third phase, the replication of the Pesona Betawi Program aims to broaden its impact across Kalibaru by encouraging economic self-reliance through the utilization of local potential and commodities, as well as transforming environmental challenges into community-based innovations.
In his remarks, Sukarmin expressed appreciation for the consistency of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Priok in implementing its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs.
“We extend our appreciation to PLN Indonesia Power UBP Priok for its strong commitment to the environment and the community through its TJSL initiatives. The Pesona Betawi Program is commendable because it recognizes and elevates the potential within the community. The Company has delivered an appropriate TJSL program, not merely in the form of assistance, but also by strengthening community capacity,” said Sukarmin.
Meanwhile, Assistant Manager of Security and Public Relations of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Priok, Astri Oktavina, explained that the benchmarking activity is an integral part of the program’s sustainability strategy.
“This benchmarking activity represents an expansion of the benefits of the Pesona Betawi Program. The program has been able to grow sustainably because of active community participation and the effective use of local potential. Through this activity, we hope the Kalibaru community will be further encouraged to develop their economic potential independently,” Astri explained.
Through the replication of the Pesona Betawi Program, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Priok expects to foster a sustainable, community-based economic ecosystem, enabling the people of Kalibaru to improve their welfare independently while strengthening the local economy.
