From Mosque Youth Initiative to Digital Transformation: PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang Empowers Kamojang Youth
Bandung, 6 January 2026 — PLN Indonesia Power, through its Generation Business Unit (UBP) Kamojang, continues to demonstrate its commitment to community empowerment by transforming local potential into sustainable and value-driven initiatives. One such initiative is Kamojang Pesat, a community development partner fostered by PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang, which serves as a platform for youth in Kamojang to explore knowledge and gain practical experience in the digital sector.
Kamojang Pesat was established based on the strong interest and potential of local youth to actively introduce the Kamojang area through digital platforms. Originating from members of the Mosque Youth Association (Ikatan Remaja Masjid/IRMA), PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang identified significant opportunities to develop youth roles as a center for digital-based education and exploration. Through a structured mentoring process, nine IRMA members were guided to form a community focused on digital content development under the direct assistance of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang. This process led to the establishment of Kamojang Pesat, which stands for Pusat Edukasi Sirkular Terpadu (Integrated Circular Education Center).
In its early stages, Kamojang Pesat faced limitations, particularly in equipment availability, as members relied solely on personal devices. To support the optimization of activities and improve content quality, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang provided digital production equipment, including cameras and supporting tools such as microphones, tripods, and stabilizers.
Another challenge currently faced by the community is the varying availability of its members, which affects task distribution and program continuity. Despite this, Umam, Head of Kamojang Pesat, continues to actively monitor member participation and ensure proper reporting in accordance with established guidelines, maintaining accountability within the community.
“Challenges are always present, especially as many members are currently occupied with other commitments. However, I continue to encourage them and provide regular reports so that we all maintain a sense of responsibility,” Umam stated.
Despite these challenges, members of Kamojang Pesat acknowledged that the continuous mentoring provided by PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang and the experiences gained have strengthened their independence, enhanced their skills, and expanded their networks to support the future growth of the community.
Senior Manager of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Kamojang, Yunus Tohir, stated that Kamojang Pesat is expected to serve as a bridge for communication and positive feedback between the Company and the community, particularly in supporting the branding of the Kamojang area. He also expressed hope that this fostered community would encourage youth to become more productive and adaptive to digital developments.
“The presence of Kamojang Pesat is expected to create mutual support between the Company and the community, fostering strong synergy. We also hope that this initiative will encourage participating youth to be more productive and to further develop their potential in the digital sphere,” Yunus said.
