Roy Rasio Ridho Sani, Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at Indonesia's Ministry of Environment, emphasized that ESG is a key foundation for sustainable development. He explained that while the government's PROPER program mainly evaluates environmental performance, CSR implementation and community engagement are also essential.
"The government continues to encourage the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles as an important foundation for sustainable development in Indonesia. Environmental performance remains the main focus of the PROPER assessment, but CSR implementation and community involvement also play a very important role," he said.
He also praised the growing commitment shown by companies in carrying out sustainable initiatives.
"The enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by corporations in implementing sustainability programs deserve recognition as part of our collective effort to build a greener and more sustainable development ecosystem," he added.
In addition to winning the TOP CSR Special Trophy, PLN Indonesia Power also showed that its ESG commitment is consistently implemented across its operations, with many business units earning the highest 5-Star and 4-Star CSR ratings.
