Caring and Serving, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau and IBI Sanggau Provide Clean Water to Sungai Batu Residents During National Customer Day
Sanggau, September 15, 2026 – National Customer Day became a meaningful moment for PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau to strengthen its connection with the community and provide direct support to residents.
Together with the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) of Sanggau Regency, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau distributed 12,000 liters of clean water to residents of Sungai Batu Village, Sanggau Regency, amid a prolonged dry season that has affected the availability of clean water in the area.
The activity was attended by the Acting Unit Manager of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau, the UBP Sanggau Public Relations team, as well as the Chairperson and members of IBI Sanggau Regency.
The prolonged dry season, influenced by El Niño conditions, has caused water levels in several community water sources in Sungai Batu to decrease, making it difficult for residents to obtain clean water for their daily needs.
Seeing this situation, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau and IBI Sanggau Regency took direct action by providing clean water to the community.
To date, 12,000 liters of clean water have been distributed. Residents who learned about the clean water distribution came to the location and queued to receive the assistance.
The clean water distribution will continue on an ongoing basis as long as the prolonged dry season continues and the community still needs additional water supplies.
Acting Unit Manager of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau, Adinda Dwi Setianto, said that National Customer Day provides an opportunity for the company to strengthen its commitment to caring for the community.
“This month, we are also commemorating National Customer Day. This is a meaningful moment for us to strengthen our commitment to the people of Sungai Batu, especially by providing clean water assistance during this prolonged dry season.”
“So far, we have distributed 12,000 liters of clean water, and this assistance will not stop today. We will continue providing clean water as long as the dry season continues to help meet the community's needs. We will also continue coordinating with local stakeholders and provide assistance according to the situation and our available resources,” said Adinda.
Chairperson of IBI Sanggau Regency, Titi Sumanti, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau for its cooperation and concern in helping the community of Sungai Batu Hamlet, Sungai Batu Village, Kapuas District, Sanggau Regency, who are currently experiencing difficulties in obtaining clean water due to the prolonged dry season.
“We greatly appreciate the cooperation and concern shown by IBI Sanggau Branch and PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau in providing clean water assistance to communities in need.”
“This assistance not only helps meet the community's basic needs, but also represents a real expression of our shared concern for public health and well-being, especially in dealing with the impact of the prolonged dry season.”
“We hope this good cooperation and partnership will continue and grow through various humanitarian activities and community services in Sanggau Regency,” said Titi Sumanti.
A resident of Sungai Batu, Neng, also expressed her gratitude for the assistance.
“We are very grateful for the clean water assistance. It really helps us because it has been difficult for us to find clean water,” said Neng.
The clean water distribution is part of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau's commitment to being present for the community and providing real benefits, especially when communities face challenges in meeting their basic needs.
Through this collaboration with IBI Sanggau Regency, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Sanggau continues to strengthen its commitment to community service, social care, and building good relationships with communities around its operational area.
