4,882 Personnel of PLN Indonesia Power Ready to Safeguard Electricity Supply for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026
Jakarta, December 26, 2025 — The spirit of safeguarding light during moments of togetherness has once again been demonstrated by PT PLN Indonesia Power. Ahead of the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 celebrations, PLN Indonesia Power declared full readiness to ensure the reliability of the national electricity supply through the Electricity Preparedness Roll Call, led directly by Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of PT PLN (Persero).
The preparedness roll call was also attended by Purnomo, Director of Gas Power Plant Operations at PLN Indonesia Power, and M. Hanafi Nur Rifai, Director of Coal Power Plant Operations at PLN Indonesia Power, together with electricity preparedness personnel at the Reliability, Efficiency, Optimization Center (REOC) and all PLN Indonesia Power work units across the country.
During the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) preparedness period, PLN Indonesia Power as a subholding prepared a net dependable capacity of 20,900 MW, with available supply capacity reaching 19,228 MW and an average plant reliability (availability factor) of 92 percent. A total of 443 generating units spread across 43 Business Units were placed on standby to ensure generation systems operated reliably and stably.
Not only from the generation side, primary energy readiness was also in secure condition. Coal stock averaged 23 Days of Operation (HOP), LNG 12 HOP, and fuel oil 20 HOP, ensuring uninterrupted power plant operations throughout the long holiday period.
From the perspective of human resources and security, PLN Indonesia Power deployed 4,882 standby personnel, consisting of 1,623 operations personnel, 675 maintenance personnel, and 2,584 corporate security personnel. To support rapid response in the field, 33 fire trucks, 25 ambulances, various supporting equipment, and sufficient spare materials were also placed on standby. In addition, 76 Power Plant Reliability Preparedness Posts were operated and spread across all PLN Indonesia Power working areas.
Through this comprehensive preparedness, PLN Indonesia Power reaffirmed its commitment to delivering electricity that is reliable, safe, and sustainable, enabling communities to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year in comfort, warmth, and joy.
