Sintang Environmental Agency Visits Sintang Coal-Fired Power Plant: Ramadan Engagement and Energy Stock Assessment
Sintang, March 18, 2026 – The Head of the Environmental Agency of Sintang Regency, Siti Musrikah, M.Si., along with her delegation, conducted a working visit to the Sintang Coal-Fired Power Plant (PLTU Sintang) in the afternoon at approximately 16:30 WIB.
The delegation was warmly received by the Manager of PLN Indonesia Power Generation Business Unit (UBP) Sintang, Bayu Putra Surya Perdana, along with the UBP Sintang management team.
The visit commenced in the UBP Sintang hall in a cordial atmosphere, fostering engagement and strengthening ties. The Ramadan moment was utilized to enhance relations between the local government and the plant operator through a communal iftar gathering.
In addition to strengthening relations, the visit also included key agendas, particularly the assessment of operational readiness ahead of the Eid al-Fitr period. The primary focus was the evaluation of fuel stock availability to ensure stable electricity supply during the holiday period.
During the visit, the Environmental Agency delegation also conducted a direct review of environmental compliance, ensuring that plant operations adhere to applicable standards without deviation. This reflects a shared commitment to balancing energy needs with environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, the inspection covered the availability of biomass as part of efforts to support a more environmentally friendly energy transition. The UBP Sintang management confirmed that biomass stock is adequately prepared to support plant operations.
This visit is expected to further strengthen synergy between the local government and energy operators in maintaining environmental sustainability while ensuring reliable electricity supply for the people of Sintang Regency.
