PLN Indonesia Power on Full Alert to Safeguard National Electricity Reliability During Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H
Jakarta, March 19, 2026 – PT PLN (Persero) has ensured the readiness of the national electricity system throughout the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) 1447 H period. President Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, affirmed that all personnel across the PLN Group are on full alert to maintain electricity reliability across Indonesia.
“PLN is committed to ensuring reliable electricity supply so that the public can observe Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr comfortably,” said Darmawan.
PLN has implemented strategic measures, including limiting work activities with potential disruption risks, as well as conducting assessments and preventive maintenance across generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
Meanwhile, the use of electric vehicles during the homecoming period has shown a significant increase. As of day seven, transactions at Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) rose by 426% compared to last year, with energy consumption increasing by 431%. PLN has also ensured the readiness of SPKLU infrastructure along the Trans Sumatra–Java–Bali routes, with an average distance of 22 kilometers between stations.
As a generation subholding, PLN Indonesia Power has strengthened its preparedness through real-time system monitoring at the Reliability Efficiency Optimization Center (REOC).
Director of Human Capital Management and Administration of PLN Indonesia Power, Ridho Hutomo, stated that personnel readiness remains the key factor in maintaining reliability. Meanwhile, Director of Finance and Risk Management, Endang Astharanti, confirmed that comprehensive risk mitigation measures have been implemented. Director of Gas-Fired Power Generation Operations, Purnomo, added that all generating units are in ready-to-operate condition.
PLN Indonesia Power currently has a net installed capacity of 18.96 GW and a dependable capacity of 15.16 GW, with an availability factor of 91.6%. A total of 537 generating units across 43 locations, supported by thousands of personnel and operational facilities, have been placed on standby.
This readiness reflects PLN Indonesia Power’s commitment, alongside the PLN Group, to maintaining national electricity reliability throughout the Eid al-Fitr period.
