Ensuring Reliable Power for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, PLN President Director Reviews PLN Indonesia Power Standby Team at Cilegon Combined Cycle Power Plant
Cilegon, March 16, 2026 – Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP) has ensured the readiness and reliability of the national electricity system to support public needs during the festive period. To confirm the reliability of generation facilities in the Cilegon area, the President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, conducted a direct visit to the Cilegon Combined Cycle Power Plant (PLTGU Cilegon) operated by PLN Indonesia Power on Monday (March 16).
The visit was accompanied by the Director of Gas-Fired Power Generation Operations of PLN Indonesia Power, Purnomo. The presence of senior leadership reflects both attention and moral support for PLN Indonesia Power personnel who remain on standby to maintain reliable electricity supply throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
During the visit, Darmawan Prasodjo reviewed operational readiness at PLN Indonesia Power UBP Cilegon and ensured that all supporting aspects of plant reliability were in optimal condition. His presence also served as a gesture of appreciation for the standby personnel who continue to carry out their duties during Ramadan and the Eid period to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the public.
On this occasion, he also encouraged PLN Indonesia Power personnel, emphasizing the importance of their role in enabling the public to celebrate Eid al-Fitr comfortably without power disruptions.
“We ensure that during Eid 2026, electricity supply and supporting infrastructure remain reliable to support the comfort of the Indonesian people. We also express our appreciation to all PLN Group personnel—from transmission and distribution to generation—who have contributed to maintaining electricity reliability across Indonesia,” said Darmawan Prasodjo.
At PLN Indonesia Power UBP Cilegon, a total of 130 standby personnel have been deployed to ensure reliable plant operations throughout the Eid standby period. These personnel will conduct intensive monitoring and operational safeguarding to maintain stable electricity supply.
Purnomo stated that personnel readiness, plant reliability, and strong coordination are key factors in maintaining electricity supply during the standby period.
“We ensure that all personnel and equipment are in a state of readiness, enabling PLN Indonesia Power to continue supporting electricity reliability and providing peace of mind for the public in celebrating Eid al-Fitr,” he said.
In 2025, PLN Indonesia Power’s PLTGU Cilegon achieved a notable performance milestone, producing 1,250 GWh of electricity. The plant also received the prestigious Gold PROPER Award from the Ministry of Environment for two consecutive years.
This preparedness reflects PLN Indonesia Power’s commitment to maintaining national electricity supply reliability, ensuring that the public can perform their religious observances and celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely, comfortably, and with peace of mind.
